Please read before your appointment to ensure the best results and experience!

Let It Grow

  • Hair should be at least 1/4 inch long (about the length of a grain of rice)
    → This usually means no shaving for 2–3 weeks before your appointment.

🧼 Prep the Skin

  • Gently exfoliate the area 24–48 hours before to remove dead skin cells and help prevent ingrown hairs (avoid harsh scrubs the day of).

  • Arrive with clean, dry skin – no lotion, oil, deodorant, or makeup on the area being waxed.

  • Wear loose clothing to your appointment to avoid irritation.

  • Plan ahead! Avoid scheduling waxing right before:

    • Special events

    • Beach vacations

    • Intense workouts

    • Your period (if you're more sensitive during this time)

⚠️ Avoid These Before Waxing

Avoid the following for at least 48 hours before your wax:

  • Tanning or sun exposure (can increase risk of skin lifting)

  • Chemical peels, Retin-A, retinol, AHA/BHA products

  • Heavy exfoliation

  • Blood-thinning medications (check with your provider if unsure)

  • Alcohol or caffeine (may increase sensitivity)

  • Shaving (leaves the hair too short to wax)

💊 Medications Matter

Let your waxer know if you're using or have recently used:

  • Accutane (Isotretinoin)

  • Retin-A or other retinoids

  • Antibiotics (oral or topical)

  • Steroids or strong acne treatments

These can thin or sensitize the skin and increase risk of lifting.

Post-Wax Care Instructions

Avoid for 24–48 Hours:

  • 🚫 Hot showers, baths, saunas, or steam rooms

  • 🚫 Swimming (pools, oceans, hot tubs)

  • 🚫 Heavy sweating (no gym, hot yoga, or intense workouts)

  • 🚫 Tanning or direct sun exposure

  • 🚫 Touching or scratching the freshly waxed area

  • 🚫 Tight clothing that may rub or trap heat/moisture

  • 🚫 Scented lotions, oils, or body sprays on the area

Do:

  • ✅ Use a cool compress if redness or irritation occurs

  • ✅ Apply aloe vera, witch hazel, or a professional post-wax serum

  • ✅ Keep skin clean and dry

  • ✅ Start gentle exfoliation 2–3 days after waxing to help prevent ingrown hairs (use a soft brush, glove, or exfoliating serum)

  • Moisturize regularly with a fragrance-free lotion

📅 For Best Results:

  • Stay on a regular waxing schedule — every 4–6 weeks is ideal

  • Avoid shaving between waxes (this can disrupt your results)

  • Let your provider know if you experience any persistent redness, bumps, or irritation
